BANDIDOS ARE NOW BLOGGERS !!! Greetings - yes - we now have another new toy So then - what is a blog ?!? Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; it can also function as as a personal online diary. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Readers cal also leave comments in an interactive format. [for more detail go to - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog] Next question - Do the Bandidos need to blog? Well - of course - not necessarily BUT using a blog to enter events is a better, more visual, more persistant and referencable than an email. Plus the author does not need to restrict themself to the Bandidos ... other interested parties can be interactive with a blog. The Bandido Blog is intended for ride reports, a ride diary, race reports etc. It can take images and can alert interested parties when it is updated. Interested parties can also directly comment. For example our own maginificent LEAPING LEON will be blogging while he is away in France - starting next week !!! His blog is set up and ready to roll Where do I find it? Just go to http://baysidebandidos.blogspot.com/ Then log in with your Google ID .... not a Google Member? - just use BaysideBBC, pwd easyas123 (ps: This link is also in the members area under all the other links) What is Published there already? As above - Leaping Leons French kit Tour de Kev - Katies Tour of France Tour of Tassie 2009 etc etc So have a look and if you want to try it some time .... How do I Blog? 1. Become a Google Member - this will automatically make you a Bandido Google Groups member if you use your Bandido email acct -or- if you tell me what you are set up as (You dont have to be a Bandido Google member but it will make your life easier if you do) 2. Go to http://baysidebandidos.blogspot.com/ [AKA "The Bandido Universe"] 3. You can do 2 things 3a) Create a Blog - this will be your own unique Blog Site (this is what Leon did) - if you are a Dido member your blog site is accessible via the list of Authors (see left of screen when you go to http://baysidebandidos.blogspot.com/) 3b) Create a Post - this time click the "Sign In" on the top left (yes, this is counter intuite as you have already logged in) - but do as I say [please] - Under Bandido Universe - there should be a POST button - click on that - Create your Title, put in your text and photos (using the toolbar above the text) and then ... PUBLISH - You can edit , revise, delete as required later on - using the dashboard (http://www.blogger.com/home) OTHER INFO You can also email to you blog - using the email setting inside of the dashboard - so that way you can set up your imail with text and images and just email it to the email address of your blog site. This sounds Greek {Geek?} - but is handy for travellers who may not have much internet cafe time and just want to get in and out of email and move on.
