Who's there this morning, Al ex-Prez, Gigi, Stuey in his HiVis polo shirt, Daggy Daz, and Mick to start off and of course the organizer of this easy ride on his fixie, me Leaping Leon. Where's Nicko, not another early morning start. Sometimes the chorus line changes with Paula, Bob & Tom Quirk and maybe Sonia and Grant filling the gaps.
The soft crew are growing each week, particularly since the weather and the light is improving.
The morning crew - Daggy Daz, Al ex-Prez, Gigi, Sonia, Grant & Mellow Mick.
The ride takes us down Balcombe Rd to Beach Rd and off to North Rd and returning back to Charman Rd, left at Balcombe to Kicko for our morning mug of coffee.
Sonia - "I feel someone is looking at me".
Daggy Daz was late this morning and met us in the opposite direction on Beach Rd. His excuse - leaving his shoes in my garage and so he turned up in his MTB shoes - not a good look in his sleek blue lycra dancing tights. The big black shoes gave him the appearance of Daffy Duck, particularly with the peak cap poking out under his helmet.
Gigi - "Is that gorgeous man still behind me?"
Climbing Col de Mavis, Gigi-the pink, startled us all as she lifted her remodelled derier from the saddle and positively bounded up the rise.
As we turned left into Charman Rd, Stuey sailed on by, obliviously not realising the rest of us were looking forward to that big mug of coffee.
As we arrived two resplendent cycling machines were already resting against the glass windows of Kicko Cafe.
Yes, Grant and Sonia (no mitts on the table please) were waiting for our arrival.
Coffee and conversation came to an end at 7.30 am as we all rode off for showers and off to another day of work.
Monday and Wednesday's from Kicko meeting at 6.00 am is a great stress free way to start the day.
Join us soon.
Leaping Leon
