Didos conquer 3Peaks

Riders roll out into an uncertain falls creek weather outlook.

Firstly, everyone who started, finished and all are safe and well! What an achievement . Kiwi decided to mark the occasion with his 21st birthday. Paula had done a great job of organising desert cakes and coffee after the ride. Looking around the table, the bodies were definitely present but I suspect the minds were tucked up in bed. Weary doesn’t quite describe it.

A flying Kiwi
BTV (Bandido TV) covered the event and conducted interviews at the start and throughout the event. Noteably, they were not at the finish. Something about discovering a bar and ‘no bloody way I’m standing out in that stuff waiting for them’. So official did Hampster and Trevsy look, that a rider came up to them and began asking techinical questions about the event. Sharp as tack, Hampster retorts “you’ve backed the wrong horse pal”. Those lads looked the part and were sharp to boot. Looking forward to seeing the outcome. Yours truly provided some mobile footage (hopefully) courtesy of helmet cam. I would have loved a dollar for every cyclist who commented on it as we rode.

Denise says she took a photo of my arse rather than Giovani.

Everyone who finished is a rockstar, riding their own ride and facing their own demons. No doubt, there will be plenty to talk about over coffee at Velocino for some time to come. Dido spirit was in abundance as the weather, tyre shredding road to falls creek, and emotional challenge took its toll. It seemed that no matter where you were on the ride, if you were in some strife or needed a pick me up, a dido was sure to appear out of the mist and rain. Truly a team effort.

The inaugural 3Peaks was truly an amazing adventure!

A very soggy, windy dark finish greeted riders.
